This is the time of year we usually talk about protecting your health during flu season. Now Coronavirus is making those conversations more important than ever. If you work in an Executive Suite or coworking space, follow these tips to keep yourself and your coworkers safe.
1. Rent A Private Office
If private offices are available at your coworking space, rent one. At College Park Executive Suites we have both shared and private office space for rent. Tenants in private offices get a desk, a chair, and most importantly, a door they can close. In these uncertain times, a closed door can help keep health risks out of your office.
2. Practice social distancing
If you have a door to close. Do so. If you don’t have a door, try to keep your distance from coworkers and clients. Avoid handshakes and hugging. A polite wave and a smile can do the job just as well.
3. Disinfect everything
Everyone is intensifying their cleaning efforts. Make sure you do your part. Wipe hard surfaces with disinfectant wipes or spray and a clean cloth. Pay special attention to high touch areas. Door knobs, telephones, shared printers and fax machines and of course bathroom fixtures should be cleaned regularly. Don’t forget your cell phone! Because we touch them all the time, our phones can transmit germs from one place to another.
4. Wash your hands
We mean a lot. If your hands aren’t dry and cracked by now, you’re probably not washing them often enough. Wash after you go to the bathroom. Scrub every time you come in from outside. If you use the kitchen facilities or the shared fax and copy machines, play it safe and clean your hands. Soap and water is more effective than hand sanitizer, so make a trip to the sink your first priority.
5. Don’t panic
Following these measures will help minimize the spread of disease, including the coronavirus, the flu, and even the common cold. For most healthy people, the risk is small. So keep calm and disinfect on. It will be summer before you know it.
